Biosecurity
Biosecurity is about reducing the risk of introducing or spreading invasive non-native species (and other harmful organisms such as diseases).
We all have a role to play in stopping the spread.
What can I do to help?
South West Water and the South West Lakes Trust are actively supporting good biosecurity practices on our waterways – once established, invasive species become extremely difficult and expensive to eradicate, which is why it is so important to prevent their spread in the first place.
They urge all river users to protect the environment and sport you enjoy by keeping your kit free of invasive plants and animals.
Whenever you leave the water, remember to Check, Clean, Dry.
