If you have a watercourse near you and care about protecting it then this role is for you! As a Citizen Science Investigator (CSI) you monitor your local waterway and provide monthly readings.

This data will be used to assess the health of your waterway and report any issues such as pollution.

This role is open to anyone aged 18+. You will receive guidance on how to complete water quality sampling.

Tamar Valley Walk Leader

The Tamar Valley National Landscape supports three weekly walking programmes across the Valley, helping people explore the area in the company of a friendly, supportive group of people on Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays. Our two Tamar and Saltash Walk & Talk programmes offer 2-hour walks, while the Tamar & Bere Wellbeing Walking Group offers walks of varying lengths for those who wish to increase their fitness.

We would like to recruit new walk leaders to support the current walking groups. This role is open to anyone 18+ with a reasonable fitness. The level of commitment depends upon the availability of the volunteer – ideally, at least once a month, but could be once a week, if available. First aid training provided if desired.

If you want to be outside, helping to manage spaces for Nature, making areas more accessible for visitors, and to build upon your skills and confidence, this is the opportunity for you.

Meet like-minded people and work together to plant trees, repair fences, maintain trails, remove invasive species, and more. These activities are likely to be physical in nature and the location sets the task, so please bear in mind that this may not be best suited for those with access needs. This group tends to meet once a fortnight, but attend when you’re able to.

Calstock Footpath Society consists of a group of local residents and supporters who care for the footpaths and public rights of way around Calstock Parish.

Volunteering opportunities include being a Path Monitor, a Walk Leader, and a Back Marker on group walks. There are monthly walks to join, but otherwise the group meets three times a year and holds an Annual General Meeting in January.
