The carefully designed route, created as part of our Tamara Landscape Partnership scheme (supported by The National Lottery Heritage Fund), leads you through a tapestry of ever-changing scenery, from bustling urban landscapes to peaceful rural vistas.
As you meander upstream, the cityscape gradually gives way to serene countryside, allowing you to leave behind the hustle and bustle and embrace the tranquillity of nature.

By train
One of Britain’s most picturesque railway branch lines (Tamar Valley Line), connects the nationally-served railway station at Plymouth to the heart of the Tamar Valley.
Regular trains run seven days a week and whether you are looking to visit the Tamar Valley Centre in Gunnislake, the Calstock Wetlands or enjoy one of our station walks, the train is the perfect way to access the Tamar Valley.
Don’t forget you can also access St Germans by rail from Plymouth, too.
By bus
National Express coaches operate frequent services to nearby Plymouth from all over the UK.
Bus services within the Tamar Valley are good and most are operated by Plymouth City Bus.
